Who can and cannot use mometasone nasal spray

Most adults can use mometasone nasal spray for nasal polyps, allergic rhinitis and hay fever.

Children aged 3 years old and over can use mometasone nasal spray for allergic rhinitis and hay fever if it's prescribed by a doctor.

Mometasone nasal spray is not suitable for some people. To make sure it's safe for you, tell your doctor before starting to use it if you:

• have ever had an allergic reaction to mometasone or any other medicine
• are taking or have recently taken other steroid medicines
• have had nose surgery or injured your nose
• have an infection in your nose, or any other type of infection
• have ever had TB (tuberculosis)
• have ever had glaucoma or cataracts
• have cystic fibrosis
