Who can use mometasone nasal spray
Most adults can use mometasone nasal spray for nasal polyps, allergic rhinitis and hay fever.
Children aged 3 years old and over can use mometasone nasal spray for allergic rhinitis and hay fever if it's prescribed by a doctor.
Who may not be able to use mometasone nasal sprayMometasone nasal spray is not suitable for some people. To make sure it's safe for you, tell your doctor before starting to use it if you:
- have ever had an allergic reaction to mometasone or any other medicine
- are taking or have recently taken other steroid medicines
- have had nose surgery or injured your nose
- have an infection in your nose, or any other type of infection
- have ever had TB (tuberculosis)
- have ever had glaucoma or cataracts
- have cystic fibrosis
